Little Bird

Don’t fight for your place little bird

Just rest in the nest you’ve been blessed with

Grow

Soon your wings will take flight

That’s the struggle

Ready to fly and the bones haven’t settled

But your heart must

For if you fight until flight the bones might not grow right

Then where will you be?

Stuck in a nest where the rest becomes restlessness

A family who’s flown away to the next nest

Then you, left behind in winter longing for summer in the Southern Hemisphere

Stuck until you are strong enough

A wind your wings can’t carry forcing you in stationary stratosphere

Forever bound by an unwillingness to wait

A chain around you and heavy weights

So wait

Build strength

Soon enough the time will come

Then you will fly free to find not just the parts but the sum

Here comes the sun
